A SUMMER CHICAGO WEDDING
A perfect Chicago summer wedding for Teresa and Todd: sun and rain, the Wrigley building overlooking the Magnificient Mile, Lincoln Park, the waves of lake Michigan braking on the rocks under their feet and the cozy laid-back atmosphere of A New Leaf. Teresa and Todd got ready at the Intercontinental, standing next to the Tribune tower and offering dramatic views of the river and the Wrigley building. A Rolls royce took us through the Mile to another Chicago landmark: the elegant classic building housing the Chicago History Museum.
CHICAGO HISTORY MUSEUM WEDDING
Now a Chicago resident myself, shooting at the Chicago History Museum was a dream come true. I grew up in Rome and I’m naturally drawn to neoclassic architecture, like the elegant portico in the east section of the building, which overlooks Lincoln Park. When all the guests were seated, Teresa walk down the steps of the staircase to the sound of violins. Weather was nice while Teresa and Todd exchanged vows and we even got time to take some pictures in Lincoln Park. Then Clouds rolled in and it started drizzling but we decided to take a chance and went to one of my favorite viewpoint in Chicago. The waves were crashing on the rocks. It was just perfect.
A NEW LEAF WEDDING RECEPTION
The Rolls left us in Old Town. A New Leaf is a gem. Part flower boutique and part lab. The small courtyard offers a secluded space for cocktails and get together and can occasionally host outdoor ceremonies. It has a pleasant relaxed vibe and I always enjoy working there. We took a few pictures in the backstreets while the guests made their way in. Teresa and Tood treated everybody to a delicious italian oriented buffet and, yes, gelato. My second shooter Patrick Fahrner provided the pictures of the groom party getting ready and other images that made this july wedding one of my season favorite.
